Flash- Game Demo Skeleton

The past few weeks we have been working in Flash. It has been a new experience, and I think that it is interesting. We have also been working on our game demo skeletons, which has been a little confusing. Some specific things I have learned are using layers, using different scenes, how to add buttons, and adding sound. Although I have not yet added sound to my game demo skeleton, I did watch the tutorial and I don't think that it will be too hard. I thing that I feel confident in, in using Flash is layers. I think that adding layers has been the easiest part, and I know how to use them well. I think the most difficult things is knowing when to add frames and key frames. It is easy to insert them, but if you don't insert one at the specific place it is needed then your movie won't work. Another thing that I find difficult is adding navigation to my buttons. I haven't yet figured out how it works, but I plan to have a classmate help me. I think once I know how to get the buttons to work that I will be able to help other classmates who don't know how to do it. I think once I get my game demo skeleton work, then I will have little confusion on getting our team game demo's to work.

  1. This is a very well written blog and I know exactly what you mean. That's great that you are willing to help your other classmates with buttons once you learn how to use them. Very kind of you. And yeah, after you get the demo skeleton done it's really easy to get the demo working.

    Best of luck,
    Matt
